Want a cute and creative gift for Valentine’s Day? Pick items your special someone will love, and you can put together this simple and sweet charcuterie board! You could even wait to build it and do it together for date night.

Why You Should Make a Charcuterie Board for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to show your person how much you care. Creating a unique and delicious charcuterie board is such a fun way to do just that! It makes a great gift for spouses, friends, your kids, or whoever you deem that special someone! Not only is a charcuterie board a beautiful and delicious way to enjoy a variety of snacks, but it is also a fun, personalized gift to show just how much you care.

From savory meats and cheeses to sweet fruits and desserts, you can tailor the board to anyone’s taste and create a one-of-a-kind experience they won’t soon forget. Plus, it’s a great way to get creative and have fun while spending quality time together!

Valentine’s Day Charcuterie Board Items:

Pink Icing – Use any pink icing you prefer to create the heart center of your charcuterie board.

Strawberries – Strawberries are my favorite, plus they are the hallmark Valentine fruit with their bright red vibrant color!

Marshmallows – No matter if you are young, old, or in between, just about everyone loves marshmallows.

Iced Animal Cookies – These are one of my hubby’s favorite cookies, so they had to make an appearance.

Valentine’s Themed Sprinkles – Red, white, and pink sprinkles enhance the Valentine theme of this simple and easy dessert board.

How to build your Valentine’s Charcuterie Board

You’ll want to first choose your charcuterie board. A round board works fabulously, but you can use any shape you prefer. Add pink frosting to a piping bag, and get ready for the fun!

What kind of frosting do I use?

You’ve got several options. The easiest is to buy strawberry frosting already made in a can. You can also buy a can of vanilla frosting and add a few drops of red food coloring until the frosting turns pink.

If you are a store-bought frosting snob like me, go ahead and make strawberry buttercream icing or homemade buttercream with a few drops of red food coloring. So good!

Tip: Make sure the frosting you use is thick enough to pipe the stars that will be added to your board later.

In the middle of the round wooden charcuterie board pipe a medium-sized heart. Add red, white, and pink sprinkles on your icing heart for visual interest. When considering the size of the heart, be sure to leave plenty of room to add marshmallows, iced animal crackers, and fresh strawberries.

Grab your marshmallows, and add a layer around the pink frosted heart.

Next up, add iced animal crackers around the marshmallows. The light pink and white icing on the cookies makes a fantastic addition to this Valentine’s Day Charcuterie Board. Line them up around the marshmallows in the same heart pattern. It’s already looking so cute!

Line fresh strawberries around the iced animal crackers and in the middle of the frosting heart.

Finally, grab your bag of pink frosting and pipe stars around the board. Voila! It’s the sweetest gift.

How Can I Make it More Special?

To make it extra special, you can add festive decorations like edible hearts, rose petals, or even a few love notes. Have fun and get creative! If you need inspiration, check out Ideas for Valentine’s Charcuterie Boards on Pinterest.

Tools You’ll Need to make a simple dessert charcuterie board.

Creating a simple dessert charcuterie board is easy and fun. You’ll need a few basic tools to get started. First, you’ll need a cutting board. This can be any size or shape, but it should be large enough to hold all the items you plan to include on your board.

For this particular charcuterie board, you will need a piping bag. Depending on what items you include on your board, you may need a variety of knives. For example, consider a paring knife, a chef’s knife, and a serrated knife for chopping and slicing your ingredients.

How far in advance Can I add strawberries to a dessert charcuterie board

Add strawberries to a dessert charcuterie board no more than 2-3 hours in advance. This will ensure that the berries stay firm, colorful, and juicy. If you want to add them further in advance, you can store them in the refrigerator to help them stay fresh.
